The connection between Barack Obama and terrorist William Ayers

Barack Obama has made it very clear that he wants to minimize his relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorists William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. He repeatedly refers to Ayers as "somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know," "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis." Many Obama apologists call the connection between the candidate and the terrorist "tenuous," claiming Republicans are trying to create a story where none exists.

The known facts, however, spell a different story. But first, let us take a look at William Ayers and his terrorist history.

As part of the Weather Underground -- the self-proclaimed communist group that worked for the “destruction of U.S. imperialism” -- Ayers was involved in 30 bombings . . . one of which claimed the life of San Francisco police officer Brian McDonnell, who died from his wounds two days after the shrapnel-filled bomb exploded . . . leaving behind a widow and two young children. Other bombings targeted the New York City police headquarters, the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and a military base.

In a New York Times interview published on September 11, 2001 -- the day Islamic terrorists flew airliners filled with innocent people into the World Trade Center and Pentagon -- Ayers said, “I don’t regret setting bombs . . . I feel we didn’t do enough.”

And this unrepentant, bomb-setting terrorist explains the Weathermen philosophy like this: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.”

Yet despite this horrific past -- for which he has never apologized -- Barack Obama has spent the past two or three decades socializing and working side-by-side with Ayers on numerous boards and panels.

Although Obama has worked hard to keep his longtime relationship with Ayers shrouded in secrecy, it appears it began long before the 1995 meeting at the Ayers household where Obama was given entré to the world of Chicago’s political left. The fact is, they may have met as early as 1981 when Obama attended Columbia University and Ayers was also on the campus. It's very possible the two met at that time, brought together by Frank Marshall Davis, Obama's early mentor who was a member of the Communist Party USA.

Obama's two-year stint at Columbia is shrouded in mystery. All he's ever said about that time period is that he lived a "monk-like" existence. In fact, in a 2005 Columbia alumni magazine interview he said "I didn't socialize that much. I was like a monk." He told biographer David Mendell, "For about two years there, I was just painfully alone and really not focused on anything, except maybe thinking a lot."

However, Obama's Pakistani friend during that period, Sohale Siddiqi, said he, Obama, and others would go out for nights on the town. "We were always competing [for women]," he said. "You know how it is. You go to a bar and you try hitting on the girls. He had a lot more success. I wouldn't outcompete him in picking up girls, that's for sure."

Because of admissions like this, Obama has revived the old “loose lips sink ships” slogan. According to an AP story from May 16, 2008, the "Obama campaign declined to discuss Obama's time at Columbia and his friendships in general. It won't, for example, release his transcript or name his friends."

Why the secrecy? Is it because there was a budding Obama-Ayers relationship at Columbia?

Several years later, following his first year at Harvard, Obama worked as a summer associate at the law firm of Sidley & Austin.

Not so coincidently, a senior Sidley partner served at the time on the board of trustees at Northwestern University alongside Ayers’s father, Tom. Even more remarkable, Bernadine Dohrn -- wife of Bill Ayers and herself a former member of the terrorist Weather Underground -- worked at Sidley Austin up until the year before Barack Obama was taken on at the firm in a highly unusual hiring move.

And which Sidley lawyer was assigned to mentor the young, first year law student? None other than Michelle Robinson, who would soon become Mrs. Barack Obama.

Then there are reports that say Dohrn served as the future Mrs. Obama’s mentor at the law firm a couple years earlier!

Whenever they met, it’s obvious that the Obama and Ayers relationship goes back years and has been extremely close. And this tells us much about Barack Obama.

You see, William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn were -- and are -- radical, anti-American, treasonous terrorists who hate the United States. The truth is, in 2001 Ayers said, “What a country. It makes me want to puke.”

And it’s not surprising that Ayers would utter such detestable pap. After all, a publicity photo for his memoir “Fugitive Days” shows Ayers in an alley with an American flag crumpled at his feet.

What’s more, Ayers and Dohrn’s “Weather Underground” was responsible for more than 30 bombings as well as a Brinks robbery in which one guard and two police officers were killed. And that’s not all:

• After Charles Manson’s demented followers slaughtered actress Sharon Tate and three others in 1969, Dohrn said, “Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”

• Ayers accurately described the Weathermen as a Maoist “American Red Army.”

• Dohrn wrote and delivered the Weathermen’s “Declaration of a State of War” against the United States, calling for “armed revolution.”

• Speaking about the day the Pentagon was bombed by Weathermen terrorists, Ayers says, “Everything was absolutely ideal . . . The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the b******s were finally going to get what was coming to them.”

• Dohrn was once on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list and was described by J. Edgar Hoover as “the most dangerous woman in America.”

• Ayers’ reading material revolved around books by Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh.

• During the late 1960s, as American troops were being killed by Communist forces in Vietnam, Dohrn met in Cuba with representatives of the Vietcong guerilla movement.

• Ayers participated in the 1969 “Days of Rage” riots in Chicago that saw one killed and scores injured.

• Dohrn managed a children’s boutique that laundered money for the Weathermen and stole customers’ IDs for the terrorists to use as they committed their heinous crimes.

• Ayers, in his memoir, says, “There’s something about a good bomb . . . Big buildings and wide streets, cement and steel were no longer permanent. They, too, were fragile and destructible. A torch, a bomb, a strong enough wind, and they, too, would come undone or get knocked down.”

• An FBI report says Dohrn planned and carried out the bombing of the San Francisco police station that killed one police officer and seriously injured nine others.

• Contemplating the use of bombs in future terrorist attacks, Ayers says, “I can’t imagine entirely dismissing the possibility.”

And Ayers’ overall view of his history in the Weathermen?

“Guilty as sin, free as a bird . . . America is a great country.”

It is inexcusable for Barack Obama to accept the support of a man who bombed the United States Capitol . . . and to this day refuses to apologize for it!

Ayers’ wife, Bernadine Dohrn, was caught spreading her anti-American propaganda last year when she said living in America is living in “the belly of the beast” and “the heart of the monster.”

While Obama now tries to dismiss Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” the record proves otherwise. Ayers hosted Obama -- who was making his first run for state senate -- in his home in 1995 and later donated money to his campaign. And not only did Ayers appoint Obama to his newly-formed Annenberg Challenge earlier that same year -- overseeing the distribution of more than $100 million dollars to area schools -- they co-chaired the group!

And Barack Obama expects the voting public to believe that Ayers would grant him control over disbursing all that money simply because they live in the same neighborhood?

Baloney!

According to author John Batchelor, “It seems more than coincidence that Obama, as a 33 year-old junior lawyer at a modest Chicago law firm, was then brought onto the CAC board as chairman, despite the prominence of other members that included two university presidents. In a September 10 New York Times article on Obama and education that mentions Ayers and depends upon [Ken] Rolling (a member of the Woods Foundation board that was responsible for awarding the grant that first brought Barack Obama to Chicago as a community organizer and whom Ayers later said he was involved in choosing to be executive director of the CAC) as an informant, one of the presidents, Stanley O. Ikenberry of the University of Illinois, remembered about the choice of Obama as chair, ‘It was unusual: here you had a person trained in the law chairing a board on school reform.’ ”

Even more disturbing is the fact that the Obama-Ayers run Annenberg Challenge approved grants to projects such as “Celebrate African-American Holiday of Juneteenth,” but turned down “the Chicago Algebra Project” and the “District 5 Math Initiative.”

Obama and Ayers served together on another board, the Woods Fund, where the two voted to send $75,000 to an anti-Semitic Arab group that wants to see America’s borders opened indiscriminately to all immigrants.

What’s more, Barack Obama’s carefully crafted answers to questions about his relationship with Ayers the bomber are nothing but out and out lies.

Incredibly, Obama’s spokesman simply says “Ayers does not have a role on the campaign.” Plus, Ayers refuses to discuss his relationship with Obama. And with good reason.

After all, Ayers was a wanted fugitive for over a decade. And Ayers' wife, Dohrn, was on the FBI's Most Wanted List and was called “the most dangerous woman in America” by J. Edgar Hoover.

Simply put, Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee for President, and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, are desperately trying to hide the truth from the American people, hoping to keep it buried until after the presidential election in November.

You see, Barack Obama’s actions -- cozying up with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, then lying about that relationship -- have brought violent terrorists into positions of influence with the Democratic nominee for President.

For this, Obama must be defeated in November.

Barack Obama -- the man who aspires to be Commander-in-Chief of America’s fighting forces -- cannot bring himself to denounce William Ayers. He also refuses to denounce Dohrn -- who referred to the United States as “AmeriKKKa” and now sits on the board of the radical American Civil Liberties Union!

He can’t bring himself to denounce them even though they were both possibly involved in the San Francisco bombing that killed a police officer.

According to the National Review Online, "Ayers has never abandoned his indictment of America as an imperialist hotbed of racism and economic exploitation. He has merely shifted methods from violent extortion to academic indoctrination. Through his perch as a professor of education at the University of Illinois, he has been a ceaseless critic of the criminal justice system (he is essentially opposed to imprisoning even the most violent criminals) and a proponent of what he calls 'education reform' but what is actually the use of the classroom to proselytize for the Left's political agenda.

"Writing in the Chicago Tribune in 1997, Obama called A Kind and Just Parent, Ayers' polemic on the Chicago court system, 'a searing and timely account.' Michelle Obama, then a dean at the University of Illinois, invited Ayers to participate in a panel with her husband, then a state senator who, the program explained, 'was working to block proposed legislation that would throw more juvenile offenders into the adult system.'

"In fact, by 1997 Obama and Ayers were collaborators on a far more significant level. They sat together for several years on the board of the Woods Fund, a left-wing Chicago charitable organization. There, they doled out tens of thousands of dollars to such beneficiaries as the Trinity Church (where Obama was a longtime member and where another Obama mentor, Jeremiah Wright, preached a radical, anti-American brand of Black Liberation Theology) and the Arab American Action network (co-founded by Rashid Khalidi, a Yasser Arafat apologist who has supported attacks against Israel and now directs Columbia University's notorious Middle East Institute, founded by Edward Said). A CBS News opinion piece on April 11, 2008, said Khalidi was widely considered to be a dangerous radical."

The 1997 joint appearance on the juvenile offenders panel is telling. As Andrew McCarthy writes: "Barack Obama made a joint appearance with Bill Ayers in 1997 at a University of Chicago panel on the outrage of treating juvenile criminals as if they were, well, criminals. Obama apologists say, 'So what? People appear with other people all the time.' Nice try. This panel was orchestrated by none other than Michelle Obama, then an Associate Dean of Student Services. Ayers didn't happen to be there -- he was invited by the Obamas to educate students on the question before the house: 'Should a Child Ever be Called a Super Predator?'"

Obama and Ayers kept their relationship going over the years. They appeared together on another panel in 2002 -- after Ayers' infamous admission that he didn't regret setting bombs as a member of the terrorist Weather Underground. This panel also included Bernadine Dohrn.

And recently released records from the Annenberg Challenge show that “Obama and Ayers attended board meetings, retreats and at least one news conference together as the education program got under way. The two continued to attend meetings together during the 1995-2001 operation of the program.”

A tenuous connection?

Hardly.

Then when Khalidi prepared to leave Chicago for New York his friends threw him a going away party. And who was in attendance? None other than Barack and Michelle Obama, William Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn.

When the American Issues Project produced its "Do you know enough about Barack Obama" ad, tying Obama to Ayers, the Obama camp went wild. The ad doesn't accuse Obama of being a terrorist or of supporting terrorism. It simply questions his judgment for being friends with Ayers, for defending him as "respectable" and "mainstream." The ad poses this question: "Why would Barack Obama be friends with someone who bombed the Capitol and is proud of it?"

The Obama campaign's response was to threaten television stations with lawsuits if they ran the ad. Their heavy-handed acts of intimidation worked in most cases.

Why did they respond so virulently? Nothing in the ad was new and sources were cited for all quotes.

Is Barack Obama trying once again to hide or minimize his connections to William Ayers, terrorist?

The answer is obvious.

And now Professor Steve Diamond of Santa Clara University Law School, a Ralph Nader supporter, is claiming the Obama campaign has formed a Nixon-like “plumbers” unit tasked with shutting off any and all leaks having to do with William Ayers. These plumbers have already stymied Diamond as well as National Review columnist Stanley Kurtz as they attempted to ferret out information from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge files.

A major Democratic source that confirms the plumber’s unit exists and is led by Bill Ayers himself and likely includes Tom Hayden and other members of "Progressives for Obama." More important, the Democratic source says this unit has direct access to media adviser David Axelrod of the Obama-Biden campaign.

Then when Kurtz was scheduled to appear on a radio talk show to talk about recently unconvered information about the Obama/Ayers connection, the Obama campaign sent out emails, detailing talking points, and asking supporters to flood the radio station with calls and email messages in an attempt to cancel the interview.

Again, the question is, “Why?”

And perhaps the bigger question is this: What does an unrepentant terrorist like William Ayers, a man who still hates the United States, see in Barack Obama that would lead him to invest so much of himself in the man?

The bottom line is Barack Obama is lying to the American people.

He lied when he said William Ayers was simply “somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know.”

He lied when he said Ayers was simply “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

And he lied when he said Ayers was “not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.”

Are we willing to vote into the Presidency a man who is working overtime to hide portions of his past from the public?

I pray that we are not.
